CENIA

The Czech Environmental Information Agency (CENIA) is a subsidized organization of the Ministry of the Environment. The basic purpose of the organization is synthetic research in the field of ecology and environmental care and professional support of state administration. The mission of CENIA is to collect, evaluate and interpret information about the environment and provide it to the professional and lay public. For 15 years, CENIA has provided validated data and information from the environment, provides map services, manages and operates a number of information systems, and publishes regular publications and monographs that respond to current trends in environmental development. CENIA ensures the technical infrastructure for the fulfillment of reporting obligations and deals with the issue of waste and recycling management. It carries out assessment and certification activities in the field of integrated prevention and voluntary environmental protection tools.  CENIA cooperates with all providers of data resources in the Department of the Environment as well as with a number of research, scientific or university workplaces and uses his expertise in the preparation of national evaluation documents and strategic and conceptual materials created under the responsibility of the Ministry of the Environment. In the Czech Republic, CENIA is the contact point for selected international groups. Individual teams work together on both national and international projects, and CENIA profiles its position in the field of science and research.
