Optimization of the System for the Management of the Reception, Validation, Processing and Reporting of Datasets in the Ministry of the Environment

Quality, comprehensive and accessible environmental information is a prerequisite for environmental protection and improvement. The collection of data is the responsibility of a number of institutions in the Ministry of Environment, which also have the obligation to publish and report relevant data and information to other national and international organisations. For usability reasons, it is necessary to ensure a uniform standard of data across institutions, to treat data ownership and to optimise data collection methodology. This issue and its solution is comprehensively covered by the new reporting system in the Ministry of the Environment.

The NERP project is to ensure the development of existing and the introduction of new information processes, procedures and activities related to the implementation of the new reporting system in the Ministry of the Environment. It aims to provide methodological and consultancy support to environmental data owners and to improve the national and international system to support environmental reporting and assessment using national and international standards.
