European Topic Centre Inland, Coastal and Marine Waters

The European Topic Centre Inland, Coastal and Marine Waters (ETC/ICM, 2019 – 2022) is one of six Topic Centres established by the European Environment Agency (EEA) and is its centre of expertise for all water-related activities. Annual activities include the collection, processing and quality control of data from EEA member country reporting, including database management and updating of EEA environmental indicators.

ETC/ICM’s tasks include expanding the Eionet network and cooperating with countries that are not yet EEA members. The required expertise is guaranteed by the composition of the ETC/ICM, which is a consortium of 17 European scientific institutions, including CENIA. The consortium is led by the Helmholtz-Zentrum für Umweltforschung – UFZ, which coordinates the activities of all consortium partners. The activities of the ETC/ICM are funded by the European Environment Agency (EEA).
