European Topic Centre Waste and Materials in a Green Economy

The European Topic Centre Waste and Materials in a Green Economy (ETC/WMGE) is one of the Topic Centres established by the European Environment Agency (EEA). The mission of the Centre is to provide thematically focused expert services and to carry out specific tasks identified in the EEA Multiannual Work Programme and specified in the EEA Annual Work Programmes. The Centre supports the work of the EEA in the following areas: waste management, waste prevention, resource and material efficiency, sector integration and green economy, sustainable consumption and production, and chemicals and waste.

The Thematic Centre is a consortium of 9 European institutions led by the Belgian company VITO. Within the consortium, CENIA is involved in the following tasks: Waste Prevention, Waste Management Indicators, Horizon Monitoring and Future Scenarios (FLIS) and Chemicals in the Circular Economy.
