CENIA’s Services and Consultation in the Preparation of Self-Declared Environmental Claims

We offer information and consultation services to anyone interested in this type of environmental labelling.

We can provide the methodology for the preparation of a self-declared environmental claim. It comprehensibly describes what a claimant of a self-declared environmental claim should know, what documentation he needs to collect and be able to submit in order to substantiate a self-declared environmental claim related to every single product and how to proceed.

As a part of our strategy of informing about environmentally friendlier products and services, we are also preparing the publication of self-declared environmental claims that comply with the above standard in a publicly available database on CENIA’s website. Data from this database will allow everyone to verify a claim’s credibility.

Has your organisation/company issued a self-declared environmental claim? We offer to verify it for you according to the ČSN ISO 14021 standard free of charge and register it in the public database.

If your company already uses a similar self-declared environmental claim for its products and is interested in publishing it in the database, it would be our pleasure to advise you on the fulfilment of the criteria specified by the standard. A compliant environmental claim will then be published in the database. If you are interested, please send us the following information:

  • name of company/organisation;
  • contact information (address, telephone, email, website, company registration number);
  • focus of company/organisation’s activities;
  • description, wording or sample of the self-declared environmental claim;
  • description of the product to which the claim is related;
  • documentation which was used as the basis for the claim.

This information will be used exclusively for the above specified purpose, i.e. the preparation and verification of the relevant environmental claim. We offer assistance in the preparation of a claim, its declaration and publication in the database to anyone interested in this instrument.
