Framework programme for pre-school education
Approved by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic under No. 14 132/01-22, effective as of 1 September 2003. One of the five basic areas of pre-school education, Child and the World is dedicated to the issue of the environment. A handbook to create a school educational programme in pre-school education is also available.

Framework programme for primary education
Approved by the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports on 23 August 2004. The obligatory initiation of teaching according to school educational programmes is expected starting the new school year of 2007/08. The six cross-sectional topics, which form the obligatory parts of primary education, also include environmental education. The document also covers the chapter The Principles for Preparation of a School Educational Programme.

Methodical instruction to EE&A in schools and educational facilities
Issued by the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports in 2001. The methodical instruction (hereinafter instruction) is based on Act No.123/1998 Coll., on the Right to Information on the Environment and on the Resolution of the Government of the Czech Republic No. 1048 of 23 October 2000 on the State Programme of Environmental Education and Awareness in the Czech Republic. It informs the headmasters of elementary and secondary schools and educational facilities about environmental education, and recommends methods for the implementation of environmental education.

Standard of further education of educational staff in EE&A
The document addresses two areas in particular: further education of all staff (a specialisation course for EE&A coordinators in schools, further education of other educational staff) and further education of school management (headmasters and deputies). The courses include ideas for practical EE&A in individual teaching subjects, practical training and examples of teaching methods within interdisciplinary active teaching, the importance of care for the school’s environment, environmentalisation of operations, environmental audit of schools, principles of sustainable development and much more.

White Book – the National Programme for Development of Education in the Czech Republic
Formulates the government’s strategy in the area of education. The strategy reflects the interests of the entire society and provides specific suggestions for the operation of schools. The introduction of the document deals with an integrated system of education, and in addition to social, cultural, political and economic areas it also includes the environment. The chapter of the document dedicated to pre-school, elementary and secondary education covers new trends in teaching, such as environmental education.
