The Map Services of the Portal of the Public Administration (Map Server) are intended for the broadest range of users – starting from the public to public administration as well as the self-governance at all levels. Users gain territory-bound, state-guaranteed information, which is described in the form of metadata, and which is the result of natural processes as well as human activities in the territory of the Czech Republic. This information is provided pursuant to Act No. 106/1999 Coll., on Free Access to Information. The Map Services form a separate part of the Portal of the Public Administration, which is operated by the Ministry of the Environment. The Ministry of the Environment is also the operator of the Map Services, while the operation itself is provided by CENIA, Czech Environmental Information Agency.

You may use the Map Server, for example:

• if you are looking for top-quality and reliable information on the environment in the Czech Republic,
• if you need to find out whether a certain area overlaps with any type of protected areas, whether there are any past environmental burdens in such an area, whether a part of it is undermined etc.,
• if you are uncertain where the exact boundaries of the individual cadastral areas are or what the scope of authority of the various public administration bodies is,
• if you are interested in the water quality of your favourite reservoir.
